Explore the both/and of gratitude and justice.
…the mistake I say is a gift / don’t be afraid to see what it teaches you… ~Ross Gay
Working with Ross Gay’s book, Catalog of Unabashed Gratitude, we will write with gratitude looking at our notions of justice–what do these concepts mean to us? How do we write about gratitude, about nature, society, or justice? We will explore living into the both/and of gratitude and justice.
We will use Women Writing practices to create a community of writers. Each day will offer quiet space to dream and write. We will share our writing in small and large groups. Our focus is on writing but each day will include craft projects and other nourishing activities.
All summer camps use the art of writing and other modes of artistic expression to enhance self-esteem and build skills in creative self-expression. Programs are designed to help strengthen young people’s authentic voices, develop their ability to speak out through writing and direct interaction, and deepen their belief in the own creative intelligence.
