I fell in love with art at Northern Kentucky University. I graduated in December of 1999 with a BA and a dance minor. I have participated and created art and performance in Cincinnati for more than 18 years. I work with and explore a variety of disciplines, as well as many mediums, but the human body has always remained the focus that has tied my experience and studies together. For me art is a gift to my own humanity. Mini studies of life that reflect, describe, communicate, stir or spark thought and wonder. I hope to inspire people to learn more about themselves and the world around us. Contemporary Dance Theater and their Performance and Time Arts series was a big part of my life. I had the privilege to work with Fanchon Shur on her piece Fight, Flight, Freeze: Instincts for Healthy Living for many years. About 14 years ago I started receiving formal training in aerial ballet. First at a workshop by Jo Krieter called Off the Ground Dances in San Francisco, followed by aerial silks workshops in Vermont through Nimble Arts Studio. I worked with Jamming Talent Productions as an aerialist. I received an individual artist grant through the city of Cincinnati in 2009-10. I have been lucky to work at BodyMind Balance Pilates and GYROTONICS Studio teaching pilates for almost 15 years, where I recently began teaching GYROTONICS as well. My beloved second job is teaching aerial silks and some pole fitness at the lovely Bella Forza Fitness.
