Lizzy DuQuette is a multimedia teaching artist with an emphasis on bridging art, STEAM education, and puppetry. In summer 2019, Lizzy led a group of ArtWorks apprentices on the BLINK: LIGHT + SHADOW project. This performance used giant cardboard puppets, found and repurposed objects, and a large scrolling picture machine (called a crankie) to tell a story about our climate crisis. Incorporating fantastical images, poetry, music, and lo-fi magic, the show hoped to serve as a call to action by inspiring a shared sense of wonder, awareness, and urgency. Lizzy has developed community driven projects and workshops with MYCincinnati Youth Orchestra, the Price Hill Creative Community Festival, Cincinnati Museum Center, and Visionaries + Voices. For the past six seasons, Lizzy has worked as production designer for Queen City Opera, designing and fabricating theater scenery. Lizzy received her BFA from the University of Cincinnati DAAP with a concentration in drawing and printmaking.
