The aesthetics of Leftovers embodies a playful but vital relationship with food. The work is colorful and bold, while understanding that food is a key part of individual identity.
Leftovers features 16 local and regional artists, Dylan Bauer, Caroline Bell, Sophia Burch, Brad Davis, Abby Friend, Hannah Kast, Lily Kroencke, Lori Larusso, Alexis Mabry, Lindsay Nehls, Michael Roller, Billy Simms, Kim Rae Taylor, David Unthank, Ariel Vivanco, Michelle Walker.
Everyone must eat, and everyone has their own relationships with food. This can mean cultural tradition, where food plays an integral role. This can be what your mother always served when she had guests over, carefully laying out a tray of sweets and drinks. This can mean what snacks you picked up on your way home from school, or your hangover breakfast with friends, or what takeout you get when you are home alone.
