Artist Workshop: Gel Plate Printmaking

Saturday, April 15, 2023 at 1–3 p.m.

Reservations Required. 

Art Museum Members: $6, General Admission: $12

Create monotype prints using a unique gel plate surface. Learn the fundamental techniques of printmaking, plus experiment with different texture tools, stencils, transfers, resists, and brushes to create prints with both representational and abstract painterly images.

Join us for this workshop led by a local artist. Learn about techniques and materials used by professional artists in these fun, educational and hands-on workshops. Children must be at least 6 years old to participate. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an enrolled adult.

About the Artist

Haley Perkins is a painter, illustrator, and printmaker new to the Cincinnati area. Her work creates avenues for her to process anxiety and speak about the vulnerability of her body, emotions, and experiences. She received a BAE and BFA from the Herron School of Art and Design (IUPUI) in Indianapolis, IN, and did graduate studies at Florida State University in Tallahassee, FL, in Museum Education and Visitor Centered Curation. Haley is the current Assistant Director of Interpretive Programming at the Cincinnati Art Museum.

PARKING INFO

Parking: FREE. Bike Racks are available outside the Main Entrance of the Art Museum. Hook up to one of our Marcel Duchamp-inspired racks during your visit! Accessible Parking is available in our north parking lot, just past the main visitor parking lot and entrance. Wheelchair + Stroller Entry is available via our DeWitt Entrance, on the east side of the museum, near the accessible parking. Access to the Mary R. Schiff Library + Archives is available via our Castellini Foundation Entrance, just to the right of the main entrance on the west side of the building.
