ArtsWave YP: Behind the Curtain

Young professionals are invited to the Malt House Tap Room at the Christian Moerlein Brewing Co. for a one-night only, behind-the-scenes look into some of the region’s most innovative and engaging arts organizations.

The event is FREE, but please register to attend. The first 50 people through the door will receive a free beer ticket, but only if you’ve registered! Registering will also automatically enter you in a raffle for free tickets to upcoming arts events.

Arrive at 5:30 p.m. to grab a beer, then be ready at 6 p.m. to get a look behind the curtain at five different Cincinnati arts staples:

Cincinnati Museum Center
Fresh off Union Terminal’s incredible restoration, get a sneak peek at “The Cave,” whose 500 feet of twists and turns re-opens March 22! If your sense of adventure is piqued, you can embrace something a bit bolder and ask about their upcoming “Curiocity: The Cave” night, where you can spend an adults-only evening in the exhibit itself.

Cincinnati Opera
Ever wonder what it’s like to be an Opera singer? Wonder no more! See a brief performance by a soloist from the Cincinnati Opera, then take part in an interactive Q&A to learn what a day-in-the-life of a professional opera singer looks like. Sometimes that day might even involve singing arias in a bar during Center Stage’s Composers & Cocktails series.

Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park
If you haven’t been to the Playhouse’s Off-the-Grid events recently, here’s your chance to get a taste of what they’ve been up to. The people are the pieces in this interactive combination of Sorry, Charades and Quelf — step onto the board and play a life-size game that will challenge your creativity and ignite your imagination for a crazy good time.

Taft Museum of Art
What are the chances your exhibition will come together or end in disaster? Become a curator, roll the dice, and learn what it takes to get art on the walls of a museum. The skills you’ll pick up will help you see things from a fresh perspective the next time you hit up one of the Taft’s awesome House Parties.

Young Professionals Choral Collective
With a beer in your hand, you’ll get a crash course on what YPCC is all about. YPCC singers will perform a selection, and then you’ll get to join a mini-rehearsal led by Artistic Director KellyAnn Nelson to see how it’s put together. Singing in bars with friends is at the core of YPCC’s ethos, so you’ll fit right in! If you end up wanting more, you can even sign up to sing in YPCC’s spring cycle concert on May 21.

An extension of ArtsWave, ArtsWave YP connects young professionals (individuals younger than 40) who want to support and get more involved with Greater Cincinnati’s vibrant arts community.
