Cincinnati Art Museum Kids Day event: Bollywood Dance Party! on Saturday, Dec 3,rd 2022 at 1:30 pm.
The museum is organizing a groundbreaking exhibition called Beyond Bollywood: 2000 Years of Dance in Art. This exhibition considers the compelling visual language of dance in the arts from South Asia, Southeast Asia, and the Himalayan region from the first to the twenty-first century. Through religious, courtly, and everyday objects, the exhibition illustrates how dance occupies a uniquely important place in the region, and how dance has long been a key element in the world’s image of India and nearby countries. Through this exhibition and related programming, hopes to empower museum audiences to understand the unique importance of dance within these regions.
The exhibition will be open from Nov 11th, 2022–February 5th, 2023 at the Cincinnati Art Museum. The ultimate goal is to foster a deeper awareness and appreciation for dance and the role it occupies within societies both locally and globally.
