Concert: Spiritual Songs from the Gift of Isolation
Saturday, May 8 | 7:00 pm
For this concert, vocal ensembles Trio Heri et Hodie and Coro Volante will draw from the unique voices of women seeking out a spiritual path by withdrawing from the world who found a verdant and abundant creativity within the strictures of that isolation. The program will include music by Byzantine nun Kassiani, Hildegard von Bingen, and Chiara Cozzolani as well as premieres of works written during the COVID quarantine by Italian, Indian-American, and American composers. This concert is made possible by contributions to the cathedral’s Friends of Music Fund.
No admission charge.
