Mulan and her dragon sidekick Mushu make an appearance at the Sharonville Cultural Arts Center in March as Performing Arts Inc. brings Disney’s Mulan JR. to the stage. “This is the first time that we have directed/produced this musical,” said director Cheryl Heaton. “Featuring Macy Yun as Mulan (Deb in Elf, Jr in December 2016) and Mary Wilkens (Fiona in Shrek, Jr, in December 2017) as her dragon sidekick, Mushu, this wonderful screen-to-stage adaptation has a lot of heart centering around a strong woman who was willing to risk everything to bring honor to her family, though not in the conventional way expected.” Favorite songs including “Reflection” and “I’ll Make a Man Outta You” will be performed by the single cast of 48 actors, ages 9-15.
