YPCC kicks off the season with its fall concert!
As we emerge from the darkness of isolation imposed by the pandemic, we enter a new world, one not quite as we left it, unsure of where we are heading. But with the promise of a return to normalcy is a return to hope and the light of community. We can move forward into this brand new day. YPCC and artistic partner Heri et Hodie, an all-women’s early music ensemble, explore the themes of light and dark, both physical and emotional, and bring the audience into visceral immersion with light mapping and artistry from Cinci Illuminations. Experience a nighttime starscape that evolves into a spectacular display of the Northern Lights. Enjoy the musical sunrise in everything from Lativian folk music to Dolly Parton’s Light of a Clear Blue Morning. Featuring composers from around the world, and highlighting the liminal spaces between darkness and light, YPCC returns to in-person concerts at Memorial Hall. This concert will also feature the world premier of a new multi-media work by renowned composer Abbie Betinis, written especially for YPCC.
