The Golden Lion Awards High School Film Festival is open to students in Ohio, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, Wisconsin, Kentucky, Tennessee, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia.
The film festival is the only non-profit, youth focused, regional event of its kind in the country. The film festival provides opportunities for young filmmakers to meet, improve skills, and learn from industry professionals. Based in Cincinnati, the film festival is open to high school and junior high students from across the Midwest.
Submissions are currently being accepted for the 9th annual festival, which will take place on Saturday, April 28, 2018, at Memorial Hall in Cincinnati, Ohio. The festival offers 13 film categories, including the new long narrative and documentary categories. Submissions for the 2018 Golden Lion Awards will close on March 16, 2018 at 3:00 pm.
