A live screening of “Having Our Say,” plus Q&A Talkback and 50 Plus Club Luncheon
Cincinnati Black Theatre Company presents a live screening of “Having Our Say,” featuring Fiona Turner as Bessie Delaney and Marva Hammonds as Sadie Delaney. After the screening will be a Q&A talkback for attendees. This project was made possible by ArtsWave Truth & Reconciliation funding.
African-American sisters Sadie and Bessie Delany, both over 100 years old, tell their stories, including growing up as the daughters of a former slave turned respected professor, maintaining professional careers and integrating a New York suburb, in this adaptation of the real-life sisters’ book of the same name.
