Discover Mt. Airy Forest with UC visiting professor Carolyn Patterson and Parks naturalist Lara Wardlow.
On this hike through Mt. Airy led by Cincy Parks naturalist Lara Wardlow and University of Cincinnati Visiting Professor Carolyn Patterson, we’ll learn about the history and ecology of Cincinnati’s largest park and reflect on land reclamation and restoration and human beings’ relationship with the environment.
Whether you’re a proficient outdoorsperson or new to the outdoors, we’d love to have you join us!
Hike + Write is a series of programs that will bring together UC writers and Cincy Parks naturalists to explore outdoor/wild spaces throughout the city.
Hike + Write is for anyone who
wants to spend time outdoors hiking or hanging out by the fire
is interested in learning skills like identifying native plants, starting a fire, or building a shelter
is curious about the history and ecology of Cincinnati
is interested in thinking, talking, and writing about the natural world and our place in it
