Batres Gilvin (Karla Batres and Bradly Gilvin) present a body of work equal parts love letter and unflinching commentary towards home.
Batres Gilvin (Bradly Gilvin and Karla Batres Gilvin) is an art collaborative with a multidisciplinary approach to artmaking. Using diverse techniques including assemblage, installation and social practice, they explore the problematization and hybridity of examining culturally specific and sensitive iconography (using the visual language of Mexican American culture and the American South) as a multiethnic team.
Exhibition opens on October 1 from 6 – 8 p.m. and runs through October 22. Gallery may be visited on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 12 – 8 p.m., on Saturdays from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m., and by appointment. Additional exhibition details at cliftonculturalarts.org/homing-in.
