May Festival Closing Night: Mendelssohn Elijah

Mendelssohn Elijah: The Human Story

Mendelssohn’s epic masterpiece Elijah is among the best-loved works ever performed at the May Festival, and a fitting finale to this Festival and to Maestro Conlon’s tenure. Based on passages found in the Old Testament, Elijah tells the tale of one of the Bible’s most influential prophets: his curse, his miracles, his struggles, and ultimately his ascent to Heaven in a flaming chariot.

This is the last concert in Music Hall before the renovation!
