Experience lens-based projects exploring the negative archetypes and stark racial disparities in contemporary American culture by local artist Michael Coppage at the Weston Art Gallery.
Michael Coppage: American+ – An exhibition of new and ongoing lens-based projects by Coppage (Cincinnati, OH) exploring the negative archetypes and stark racial disparities still operating in the language and psychology of contemporary American culture. Through a series of provocative sound, video, and photography installations, Coppage’s participatory projects elicit questions and upend stereotypes by inverting historical scenarios and asking viewers to confront racist terminology.
There will be an Opening Reception at the Weston Art Gallery on Friday, September 16th from 6-8pm.

The Weston Art Gallery is situated in the urban core of downtown Cincinnati. With more than 6,000 parking spaces within a two-block radius, there are a variety of parking options for patrons. On the street blocks of Sixth St., Walnut St., and Seventh St. there are several independent valet operators just footsteps from the Weston Art Gallery entrance. Valet stations are located adjacent to Nada Restaurant, Nicholson’s Gastropub, and Jeff Ruby’s Steakhouse.
