Opening Reception: Dynamics of Flow

Please join us for the opening reception of The Carnegie’s latest exhibition, Dynamics of Flow, in conjunction with the NCECA conference.

Dynamics of Flow is a curatorial game of telephone operating on a loop. Curators Derrick Velasquez, Johanna Jackson and Matt Distel expand the definition of ceramics and painting with a game of tag; individually selecting projects that respond to the previous selection. The resulting exhibition showcases bodies of work that see-saw from ceramics to painting: revealing a dialogue between specific objects and, broadly, between the two mediums.

Curators: Johanna Jackson, Derrick Velasquez, Matt Distel

Participating artists include: Saul Acevedo Gomez, Esteban Cabeza de Baca, Sara Mayako Gernsbacher, Samara Golden, Rashawn Griffin, Zachary Herrmann, Johanna Jackson, Chris Johanson, Marsha Mack, Kyp Malone, George Perez, William Renschler, Richard Shaw, Cauleen Smith, Michael Stillion, Jenna Thornhill, Sara Torgison, Derrick Velasquez, Betty Woodman, Ilana Zweschi
