Everyone has a Story to tell… care to share? Beginning at 7 pm on March 11th and continuing every 2nd Wednesday the Oxford Community Arts Center is offering “Oxford Tale Spinners: True Stories Told Live”
Modeled after the NPR radio show, “The Moth” and organizations such as Storyclub Cleveland and several groups in Cincinnati who present events and teach the craft (links below), we invite you to be a part of our stories!
The essence of Storytelling is life experiences. Stories can be funny or real tearjerkers… or both. The key is that they “are true as affirmed by the speaker”. As a means of passing down “oral” traditions, storytelling is part of our histories… every culture on Earth shares through the spoken word. As an “art form”, there are Storytelling groups and conferences throughout the country and around the world.
Whether you want to be a “Teller” or just part of the audience, we invite you to share the stories… No reservations are required, but if you are bringing a large group, please let us know!
Questions can be directed to our Moderator, Ross Wason at 216-965-4547 or Wasonadphi@gmail.com.
