Salon 21 celebrates art song with Bernstein, Copland, and Barber in March!
Salon 21 takes an academic spin across American art song literature with a collaboration between voice and piano professors from Northern Kentucky University and University of North Florida. While the art song genre was famously refined by the greats of 19th century German music, there is a wide range of 20th century American composers who have contributed significantly to this art form. Vocalists Kimberly Lazzeri and Krzysztof Biernacki team up with pianists Erin Bennett and Richard van Dyke to present a collection of pieces by iconic American composers Samuel Barber, Aaron Copland, and Leonard Bernstein.
