Art on the Streets is collaborating with the City of Cincinnati and Cornerstone Renter Equity to host local artists who invite the public to join in creating a half mile of street murals on Pleasant Street in Over-the-Rhine.
Everyone can be a street artist in Over-the-Rhine this May when Pleasant Street fills with community-inspired public art. Art on the Streets is collaborating with the City of Cincinnati and Cornerstone Equity to host local artists who invite the public to join in creating this ‘Asphalt Art’.
On May 14, a large group of artists will be on hand to guide and complete the public painting. The Pleasant Paints team includes Pam Kravetz (lead artist), Sidney Cherie Hilley (engagement artist), and Rick Wolf (managing artist) with the 2022 Painting Artists: Marcus Donaldson, Lizzy DuQuette, LD Nehls, Lin Noelle, Hannah “Jonesy” Jones, James Reynolds, TC Flowers, and Anh Tran. In addition to the painting activity, Cornerstone Equity will bring family activities, music, and more to Pleasant Street.
Artists will create the outline of a new piece of artwork in five locations on Pleasant Street between Washington Park and Findlay Market. Anyone who wants to pick up a brush will become a Pleasant Paints artist for the day. Volunteers can sign up online at www.artonthestreets.org/pleasantpaints.
