Theatre for Young Audiences production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream (for young audiences, K-5).
11:30AM (90 mins)
Cincinnati Shakespeare Company presents 
Romeo & Juliet (for all audiences).
Washington Park Civic Lawn- bring a lawn chair or blanket. 
FREE- no tickets required.

The weather is forecasted to be in the 70s! Come and enjoy the sunshine and some FREE Shakespeare.

THURSDAY APRIL 14TH: WOODWARD THEATRE

PERFORMANCE BLOCK 1: 10:30AM-2:00PM

Sycamore High School performs a gender-flipped, filmed one hour production of Romeo & Juliet.

St. Joseph Academy presents A Midsummer Night’s Dream through the medium of computer animation.

Mariemont High School presents a mixed media All’s Well That Ends Well, incorporating both video and live performance.

 

PERFORMANCE BLOCK 2: 4:00PM-7:05pm

Covedale Elementary School performs the introduction of King Henry to Anne Boleyn from Henry VIII.

Fine Arts After School presents their five minute film version of Macbeth.

South Dearborn High School performs a variety of scenes from The Tempest.

School for Creative and Performing Arts uses music to explore the sonnets of Love’s Labour’s Lost.

 

FRIDAY APRIL 15TH: WOODWARD THEATRE

PERFORMANCE BLOCK 1: 9:00AM-11:30AM

Withrow University High School presents a classic clash between Kate and Petruchio from The Taming of the Shrew.

Gilbert A. Dater High School presents a collaboration of visual and performing arts inspired by Romeo & Juliet.

Lakota East Freshman School reimagines scenes from Hamlet through the modern medium of texting.

Amelia High School presents a film adaptation of The Comedy of Errors, transporting the action to a modern- day high school.

 

PERFORMANCE BLOCK 2: 12:45PM-3:00PM

DePaul Cristo Rey performs The Comedy of Errors, using a combination original text and modern language.

Oak Hills High School brings 21st century sensibilities to The Taming of the Shrew.

Campbell Regional Juvenile Detention Center presents a short film exploring the opening monologue of Richard III through mask work.

Aiken High School performs various pieces of modern music to tell the story of Othello.

 

PERFORMANCE BLOCK 3: 6:30PM-10:00PM

Blanchester Middle School incorporates social media into their modernized version of Antony & Cleopatra.

Highlands High School performs a full production based on King John, focusing on Shakespeare’s portrayal of strong female characters.

St. Ursula Academy presents their film adaptation of A Winter’s Tale.

Wilmington High School uses selections from Henry IV: Parts I, II, III to create a living piece of visual art.

 

SATURDAY APRIL 16TH: WASHINGTON PARK

PERFORMANCE BLOCK 1: 10:30 AM-1:45PM

Cincinnati Shakespeare Company presents its Theatre for Young Audiences production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream (for young audiences, K-5).

Cincinnati Shakespeare Company presents Romeo & Juliet. (for all audiences).

 

PERFORMANCE BLOCK 2: 2:45PM-6:45PM

Villa Madonna Academy combines the text of Twelfth Night with the music of Elvis, performing excerpts from the musical All Shook Up.

Cincinnati Christian High School performs Henry V‘s “Once More Unto the Breech” as a choric piece exploring martial virtues.

Simon Kenton High School explores the story of Othello through poetry, movement and dance.

Dixie Heights High School performs a 45 minute full production of Julius Caesar, focusing on the power of propaganda then and now.

 

SUNDAY APRIL 17TH: WOODWARD THEATRE

PERFORMANCE BLOCK 1: 12:00PM-3:05PM

Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy performs a multi-media follow up to King Lear, putting the characters of Edgar and Kent on a call-in radio show.

Mercy Montessori presents their film adaptation of The Two Noble Kinsmen.

Hyde Park School performs 76 Lines About 38 Plays, an original musical composition that covers Shakespeare’s entire canon, summarizing each play in two lines.

Covington Latin High School reframes Richard II as a trial in which characters accuse or defend the titular king.

 

PERFORMANCE BLOCK 2: 4:00PM-5:45PM

Lebanon High School performs excerpts from The Two Gentlemen of Verona through the lens of Pixar’s Toy Story.

Ursuline Academy reimagines Much Ado About Nothing as a series of television shows.

 

PERFORMANCE BLOCK 3: 6:45PM-10:15PM

Taft IT High School presents an original music-based interpretation of Coriolanus.

Mother of Mercy High School presents their film of Troilus and Cressida reimagined as an episode of The Office.

Gallatin County High School presents their film of The Merry Wives of Windsor reimagined as an episode of I Love Lucy.

The CSC Groundlings perform a selection of scenes from across the canon.

 

MONDAY APRIL 18TH: WOODWARD THEATRE

PERFORMANCE BLOCK 1: 9:30AM-11:00AM

The New School Montessori’s 4th-6th graders perform a 40 minute version of Julius Caesar.

ASCENT performs a variety of scenes from the canon (their visual arts students’ ‘Costumes from Nothing’ project can also be viewed in the Gallery).

 

PERFORMANCE BLOCK 2: 11;45AM-2:45PM

Notre Dame Academy combines original text, modern language and contemporary music to explore character relationships inCymbeline.

Butler Tech School for the Arts presents a film documentary exploring issues in Measure for Measure that are relevant to the modern day.

Leaves of Learning performs selections from The Merchant of Venice, focusing around the climactic courtroom scene.

 

PERFORMANCE BLOCK 3: 3:30PM-6:15PM

Boone County High School performs scenes from Macbeth focusing on Lady Macbeth and the three witches. There are also costumes created by art students from recycled material in the art gallery.

Covington Catholic High School presents their film of Titus Andronicus done entirely in LEGOs.

CSC’s Adult Acting Class performs a selection of scenes and monologues from As You Like It.
