This exhibit is an engrossing journey through recent history based on Ken’s personal experiences in that war-torn land. As a US Army photographer, Ken’s eye for poetic beauty infuses the powerful and sometimes haunting images he created there.
Opening Night Reception refreshments and live music. Special presentation with Ken starts at 7:15 pm.
Ken Williamson first went to Vietnam in 1969, serving with the Army Engineers. He photographed the land, people, and events then and continued documenting its citizens and sites when he returned years after the war. He has compiled his observations into a book which intertwines his personal life and reactions with the historical events of the time that have shaped Vietnam and the United States. Listen to Ken as he shares his photography and memories of Vietnam, a changing country that will always have a connection to ours.
