Screenplay Workshop

8 hour Workshop : introduction to understanding the structure of a film script

The main initial thrust of the program will be a daylong 8-hour workshop held May 17th, at the Cincinnati Chamber of Commerce. Introducing participants to understanding the structure of a film script, focus will then turn to practical exercises including: writing for the screen, writing for the ear, writing in third person, present tense, and the active voice.

The workshop will wrap up the day with the participants having an idea for their script. Following this initial plunge into the screenwriting world, the new writers’ group will gather in monthly meetups for the next seven months, guided by professors and professional independent scriptwriters. You will be encouraged to develop peer relationships with each other, providing support and advice as you work through to a finished script. At the conclusion of the program, you will be given access to fundraising through CFS to generate production monies, as well as advised on how to sell your scripts.
