SHIFT Art + Music + Mindsets

A secret location in Butler County will be transformed into an pop-up house party on Saturday, September 21 to celebrate local artists living with disabilities. SHIFT Electronic Music & Art is a one-night experience coming to a unique space in Downtown Hamilton that has been hidden from public view for years.

InsideOut Studio, a nonprofit art gallery and maker space for artists living with disabilities, created SHIFT to raise funds for much-needed adaptive art equipment and enrichment experiences for its artists. InsideOut’s adaptive equipment and teaching methods are based on the specific needs of its artists, providing an individualized approach to establishing the most nonrestrictive creative environment possible.

In addition to the never-before-used event space, SHIFT is also unique in that it will be sensory-friendly. DJs will start the evening with a more serene atmosphere for people with sensory sensitivities before gradually SHIFTing energy to build tempo and intensity through their musical selections and lighting. DJ Bit Flip, DJ Mowgli, and DJ Fuzzy Logic are scheduled to spin. Local artists will create artwork live and provide hands-on art experiences for guests.

SHIFT and its 300 guests will start their evening at InsideOut studio, located at 140 High Street across from the historic Butler County Courthouse. They will then be escorted to the secret event space for a night of music, food, and art. Municipal Brew Works in Hamilton will debut a new craft beer created specifically for SHIFT. Popular Butler County restaurants will be providing food and refreshments.
