Fine Artist Nathaniel Flanagan showcases his oil paintings at the SCAC’s Westheimer Gallery in the month of March.
Nathaniel Flanagan brings his love of classical techniques and capturing light on canvas to the Westheimer Gallery with The Beauty of Light and Shadow, March 1 – 3o. Taking the enviable leap of faith to make fine art his full-time profession, Nate follows in the footsteps of the Masters to create stunning works in oil.
“To me, art is more than a good painting, or a pretty picture, it’s about the beauty that can be captured, the idea growing on a canvas, thoughts on display for all to see. That’s what I aim for in my paintings; I want to show the beauty of the world, to convey the feeling of light and shadow. I want the viewer to stop and see the beauty of something as simple as a vase or a tree, and see the beauty everyday life offers us.
Studying art and art history is something I enjoy very much, and it is a big inspiration for my artwork. Painting on location landscapes, or setting up a still life and capturing the moment, the light, and shadows, is what drives me as an artist. Trying to capture the feeling of light with paint is my endless inspiration.” -Nate Flanagan
The Beauty of Light and Shadow runs Thursday – Saturdays through March 30. Join us for the opening reception during our monthly First Friday event, Friday March 1 from 6-8pm. The Westheimer Gallery is open to the public and this event is Free.

PARKING: Parking is available in the SCAC lot at the corner of Reading Rd and Walnut St, on our building's south side. Additional free public parking is available in City of Sharonville lots, located around the corner on Walnut behind Cliff Hardware, as well as behind PNC Bank at Reading Rd and Creek Rd.
DIRECTIONS: From I-275: Take exit 46 to Lebanon Rd (US-42). Head south on US 42. Stay to the right on Reading Road. Turn right at Walnut Street.
From I-75: Take exit 15 to head east on Sharon Road. Follow to the left onto Main Street (one-way). Turn left on Walnut Street.
