The program includes your favorites such as:
Lennon/McCartney: “Yesterday”
Lennon/McCartney: “Strawberry Fields Forever”
Lennon/McCartney: “Eleanor Rigby”
Lennon/McCartney: “I Am The Walrus”
Songwriter/guitarist and performance curator Roger Klug has been a fixture on the Cincinnati pop music scene for years. As a solo artist, he released a series of acclaimed albums, including More Help For Your Nerves, Toxic and 15 Other Love Songs, and the 1960s tribute-hoax Where Has The Music Gone?: The Lost Recordings of Clem Comstock. His songs have been featured on nationally-syndicated radio (NPR, Undercurrents) and network television. In addition to performing live solo or with his “power trio,” Roger has enjoyed playing in a wide variety of ensembles locally, from pop to jazz (Frank Vincent, Rick VanMatre) to orchestral (Kentucky Symphony Orchestra, concert:nova). He designed and currently teaches the popular Music of the Beatles course at the University of Cincinnati.
The Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra is an independent ensemble of 32 professional musicians that celebrated its 40th anniversary season in 2014. The CCO offers a vibrant and fresh musical experience in an intimate and informal setting, for both the seasoned and novice concert patron. The CCO’s size allows for flexibility and creativity in programming, the ideal ensemble for presenting orchestral works ranging from the Baroque and Classical eras to commissioned works by contemporary composers. Collaborations have become a hallmark of the CCO, including ongoing partnerships with VAE: Cincinnati’s Vocal Arts Ensemble and Madcap Puppets. The mission of the CCO is to create intimate, transformative experiences that connect the musically curious.
The 2016 Arts & Culture Series is made possible by the Friends of the Campbell County Public Library.
