Illustrative Becoming is a practice of drawing that maps an individual’s past in hopes of revealing an authentic artistic voice. In this workshop lead by Latausha Cox, participants will use a series of personal illustrations in the form of collage vignettes to explore themes of race and identity. There will be moments of reflection and prompts to aid in new discoveries. This workshop is a collaboration in partnership with Manifest Drawing Center. Suitable for all skill levels. No previous drawing experience required. $50 Taft members, $65 non-members.
Recommended materials include drawing utensils (pencils, pens, charcoal, etc.) and sketchbook paper. *Illustrative Becoming is also the title for a solo show by Latausha Cox at the Kennedy Heights Art Center, showcasing in September.
