CSI and Queen City Cabaret team up to present a delectable program of Golden-Age tunes from the Great American Songbook. Featuring selections from the 1930s through 1960s, take a trip with some of Cincinnati’s greatest cabaret personalities and explore all this era has to offer!
The evening will feature performances of vintage popular music and jazz standards by Sarah Folsom, Matthew Umphreys, Mandy Gaines, and Steve Schmidt.
The phrase “Great American Songbook” often describes music from the first half of the 20th century that seems to transcend the era in which it was written. The Great American Songbook Foundation describes these songs as a collection of “enduring standards, the songs that are played and sung over and over by multiple generations….(they) have a timeless meaning and resonance, whether they are days or decades old.”
