We Are the Story: A Visual Response to Racism

Storytelling and healing through art.

We Are the Story: A Visual Response to Racism is an exhibition organized and curated by Historian, Author, Lecturer and Artist Dr. Carolyn L. Mazloomi courtesy of Women of Color Quilters Network. Created as a response to the murder of George Floyd, the exhibition features a series of quilts highlighting the history of civil rights, police brutality and racism in America.

We are the Story: A Visual Response to Racism is a part of Story Quilts, a program initiative created by Kathy Wade with ArtsWave Truth and Reconciliation funding that engages participants to share their truths from the patchwork of their lives weaving stories and creating a tapestry of reconciliation and resilience.

Presented by the Carol Ann & Ralph V. Haile, Jr. Foundation, Learning Through Art, Inc. and Fitton Center for Creative Arts.

ADMISSION INFO

$5 for Adults with general admission, $3 for Children with general admission, free for members

Free exhibition admission Wednesdays and Sundays throughout the show.
