We will be leading a puppet-making workshop, inspired by Margaretta’s companion, Sheppy.
Little Amal is the 12-foot puppet of a 10-year-old Syrian refugee child at the heart of The Walk. She has become a global symbol of human rights, especially those of refugees.
Between September 7th and November 5th 2023, Little Amal will journey 6,000 miles across the United States. 35 towns and cities from Boston to San Diego and 1,000+ artists and arts organizations will create 100+ events to welcome her. Cincinnati is included in our travels!
The organization that travels with Little Amal encourages the community to bring a gift or companion when welcoming with Little Amal to their city. Therefore we will be leading a puppet-making workshop, inspired by Margaretta’s companion, Sheppy. We encourage you to bring the puppets to Little Amal’s walk across the Roebling Bridge on September 22nd from 2:00 – 2:30pm.
There is no cost to participate in either event, however you must register to create dog puppets on September 20th.
