Things aren’t always black and white in this commissioned twist on Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner, written by Cincinnati-favorite Torie Wiggins. A relaxed performance.
Things aren’t always black and white—especially when it comes to relationships. When Dean, a young professional, and Danya, an aspiring singer, go on a refreshingly candid first date, they keep it real about the dynamics of a potential interracial relationship. As they grow comfortable nestled in the cocoon of their budding love, the real world brings a whirlwind of inflammatory race relations, opinionated family and friends, and troublesome pasts. Can love truly be colorblind? A commissioned world premiere, this updated remix of the critically acclaimed classic Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner shines a light on what happens when cultures clash in the name of love.
The 2:00 pm matinee on April 29 will be a relaxed performance, which is a performance with modifications made to relax the traditional etiquette “rules” of attending a theatrical event. Relaxed performances are open to all patrons, though they are intentionally modified to accommodate patrons with Autism, anxiety, dementia, chronic pain, post-traumatic stress disorder, or other sensory and vestibular sensitivities. Find out more, including what modifications are made, by visiting here.
