What is YPC2?
YPC2 is a reimagining of our successful Students Create Change (SC2) program, which seeks to empower students in grades PreK-12 through the art of theatre. We are piloting this program for young professionals, so you, as a participant, will get to shape a program that we expect to positively impact our community for years to come. YOU get to write, design, and act in your own original production around social issues critical to YOU!
Bring a friend and be guided by Matthew David Gellin, our Executive Artistic Director & CEO. At the same time, build critical leadership skills, such as budgeting, emotional intelligence, empathic listening, all while having your voice amplified. This is an opportunity for fun with a purpose: you will play, network, and grow as a professional, but you will also impact your community!
Is it for me?
We are looking for young professionals (between the ages of 21 and 40) of all backgrounds. We want a cohort that is diverse in every sense of the word. No prior theatre experience is necessary.
Theatre is a highly collaborative art form with many roles onstage and off, so regardless of your comfort performing in front of an audience, there is a place for you here. We are looking for committed individuals who will do their best to attend every session and who are willing to expend some creative energy on their own time in order to maximize the success of their performance.
