Cincinnati Landmark Productions

Cincinnati Landmark Productions (CLP) began as Cincinnati Young People’s Theatre (CYPT), a theatre for teenagers, in 1982.  In 1990, CYPT became the producer for the summer stock Showboat Majestic, utilizing paid performers of all ages and keeping the teen program at Westwood Town Hall.

In May 2002, CYPT purchased the Covedale Cinema at 4990 Glenway Avenue, converting it into a performing arts center by July 26, 2002, when the Covedale Center for the Performing Arts opened with sold-out shows of West Side Story.

In Fall 2002, “the Covedale” began a subscription series featuring paid performers of all ages. Since then, the Covedale has completed its original 5 Phase renovation plan, creating one of the area’s most successful live theatrical venues.

By 2006, Cincinnati Young People’s Theatre was reorganized as Cincinnati Landmark Productions, comprised of the Showboat Majestic; the Covedale Center for the Performing Arts; and Cincinnati Young People’s Theatre teen program.

In 2013, CLP ceased operating the city-owned Showboat Majestic.

On June 3, 2015, CLP opened its new venue: the Warsaw Federal Incline Theater in the blossoming Incline District in East Price Hill. This landmark location features two seasons: a summer-stock series (the “Summer Classics Season”) designed to carry on CLP’s showboat-type productions; and a main stage season (“the District Series”) during the year, with shows that will explore a broad range of styles and content, in contrast to Incline Summer classics and the Covedale Center’s programming.

With the addition of the Warsaw Federal Incline Theater to the Covedale Center for the Performing Arts, CLP once again produces subscription seasons, events, concerts, children’s programs and an arts/crafts fair at two landmark theatres.
