Eye of the Artists was established in 2001 in response to the growing need for connecting more arts programming, arts education and artists to underserved communities. The foundation was founded by visual artist/poet Annie Ruth and is recognized as a nonprofit public charity under section 501(c) 3 of the Internal Revenue Code.
Eye of the Artists exposes the community to fine art that promotes education, literacy, & creative expression. The foundation has a rich legacy of producing arts education curriculum, presenting young women’s conferences, providing artist’s residencies and providing permanent art collections and exhibits in community-based venues. Numerous permanent art collections have been installed at the Community Action Agency, Frederick Douglass School, Neighborhood Health Center and Bond Hill Academy and Roselawn Condon School and New Prospect Summit Center. Since its inception the foundation has served over 100,000 youth, families, educators, and the community at large through its arts education programs, products and outreach.
Eye of the Artists operates the art studio at New Prospect Summit Center in Roselawn, offering training and workshops for the community.
