MYCincinnati (Music for Youth in Cincinnati) is a free, daily youth orchestra program for children in Price Hill. Students in MYCincinnati have the opportunity to learn violin, viola, cello, and double bass, and play in an orchestra. MYCincinnati is inspired by El Sistema, Venezuela’s revolutionary youth development program that uses music as a tool for social change. Now in its fifth year, MYCincinnati has 70 orchestra students (ages 8 – 16) that meet for 2 – 3 hours every weekday, and 20 pre-orchestra students (ages 5 – 7) that meet for 1 hour every weekday. Rehearsals, concerts, and other special events are held at the MYCincinnati Firehouse, an historic firestation turned community arts center in the heart of East Price Hill.

MYCincinnati’s mission is to use classical music as a tool for youth development and community engagement by providing urban children with access to free, intense, high-quality music education.

MYCincinnati is a program of Price Hill Will, a non-profit comprehensive community development corporation that is committed to the revitalization of the West, East, and Lower Price Hill neighborhoods.
