CINSAM is the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics) Center at Northern Kentucky University. Located in Highland Heights, KY on the NKU campus, CINSAM works to improve P-16 STEM education in the greater Cincinnati region by delivering year-round opportunities for students and educators by advancing and integrating teaching, learning, and scholarship in the STEM disciplines.We offer a wide array of student programs and camps and professional development, along with undergraduate scholarships and research grants for NKU students and faculty.

The Explore STEM! (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) Camp is five days of challenging and diverse experiences across a number of disciplines designed for middle school students. Participants will conduct experiments, learn technologies, and utilize equipment frequently reserved for upper-division science majors. Mathematics is integrated as part of the scientific study, through modeling or data analysis. All sessions are led by NKU faculty interested in sharing their passion for science. Past camps have included geology, entomology, physics, environmental science, chemistry, microbiology, astronomy, biotechnology, computer science, entomology, genetics and more. Participants in this camp must have at least a B average in his/her math and science classes.
