ArtWorks

At ArtWorks, we are head over heels in love with Cincinnati, and it is our mission to help everyone else experience that love as fully as we do. We are a non-profit that believes creativity is an economic engine. It is our privilege to partner with our local communities, teens, artists, and entrepreneurs to put our city’s creative power on display for all to enjoy. Through installations, sculptures, and over 100 murals and counting, ArtWorks has become the largest employer of visual artists in the region, providing jobs for thousands since we were founded in 1996. To date, ArtWorks has employed over 2,800 youth Apprentices and 800 professional artists.

ArtWorks School Mural Tours

Program description

Our murals bring math, history, and the arts to life through story-telling, visuals, and group engagement strategies! The walking or bus tours are available year round, but we recommend April through October for an optimal walking experience.

Each tour is led by a trained ArtWorks guide and a youth Apprentice mural artist. They will bring learning to life and enhance your classroom dynamic by sharing our mural masterpieces. Your students will see real life math applications to create a mural form sketch to wall, learn about our city’s history and rich cultural heritage, and be exposed to the visual arts by learning about artists and legends from Cincinnati. The school tours can be focused and are best suited for grades 5-12.

While larger groups might consider a bus tour, we strongly recommend a walking tour to amplify the experience. We will provide the guides to show you murals all across the city if you provide the bus if you choose this option.
