The CAC is offering educators a special opportunity: a private dinner in the gallery with the artist Noel Anderson, surrounded by his work. Anderson is a Louisville, KY born artist who currently resides in New York City where he is a professor at NYU. His exhibition, Blak Origin Movement was prompted by the provocative question, “When did you know you were black?”
Anderson, himself an educator, welcomes the chance to open a dialogue with teachers about how they talk about and relate to difference or otherness in the classroom. He welcomes educators to share their strategies for encouraging an honest dialogue when teaching, or encountering sensitive subjects in the classroom.
The museum will be closed to the public to accommodate this private event. Dinner and cocktails will be provided throughout the evening in the gallery on the second floor. This unique opportunity is FREE for teachers and education students, but space is limited and reservations are required.
