CSO Chamber Players Series - Brahms & Beethoven

CSO Chamber Players Series - Brahms & Beethoven

Presented by Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra at Music Hall

In 2017-18, the CSO begins a 3-year cycle exploring the genius within Beethoven’s symphonies—but not all of the composer’s masterpieces are writ large. The third and final of Beethoven’s Razumovsky String Quartets is a stunningly radiant work, featuring a heroic finale—a fine addition to the CSO’s Beethoven Revolution. Listen also for Brahms’ contemplative and bucolic Horn Trio, the opening theme of which struck the composer during a walk through the woods. Poulenc’s Trio, dedicated to composer Manuel de Falla, is a bright and joyful beginning to the program.
