Learn poetic forms and lyric techniques in this collaborative workshop with Alysia Nicole Harris. Attendees will write about Cincinnati and their vision for the future.
Our relationship to place and to home plays an integral role in the formation of our identities. Drawing from the murals of Robert S. Duncanson and the work of African American poets, attendees will create “urban pastorals” of Cincinnati. Guided by Alysia Nicole Harris attendees will write about the Cincinnati only they know and their personal vision for a fuller city. They will use a series of exercises designed to build lyric imagination and to acquaint new writers with poetic forms and devices. Ages 16 and over.
FREE. Reservations required.
