An interactive workshop combines two traditional forms of poetry while focusing on storytelling and intergenerational communication.
This program combines two different poetic traditions, that of the griot and that of the haiku. Children and parents will share with each other a personal story of success. Then, with the help of the Alysia Nicole Harris, each participant will get the opportunity to immortalize that story in the three lines of a haiku. In this version of interactive storytelling aimed at fostering intergenerational communication, parents and children each try on both the role of storyteller and bard and the role of listener and scribe. Ages 8 and over.
