Artist Statement:
There’s an undisputed celebration to mankind’s affixation on the wish to control nature and the inhabitants of its land. The most profound elements that lay deep within its valleys and jungles are certainly a timeless battle that man will continue to strive to conquer. However, in this series of works, Lemus tends to mesh together that fine line between the hunter and the hunted, the pray and predator, the meek and the loud, the large and the small. Additionally, the obscure and profound similarities between human modern ingenuity versus billions of years of evolution are always in the most significant dance of them all. Its called “Survival of the fittest!” This show is dedicated to those brave souls that thrived to establish a better understanding of this fine line as well as the many creatures who’s relentless struggle will always be a topic of epic proportions.

In this collection of art the Lemus presents a visual stimulation of textures. From vinyl, broken cds, paper prints to denim, Lemus helps us remember that creating art is at times a moment of fun. Lemus is an artist hugely influenced by different cultures and music. These two components are the basis of all modern and established civilizations. Textures are the one stimulation that never really leaves your memory. From a certain smell like strong coffee beans, to wearing your funday clothes after church (denim). These things are in constant formation of our relevance as beings. Music serves a menu of time preservation as well. One tone, one sound, one jingle and one remembers what those sounds made you feel at that moment. Timeless.
