Express Appalachia: Journey and Identity

Express Appalachia: Journey and Identity

Presented by Urban Appalachian Community Coalition at Aronoff Center for the Arts

Appalachian musicians, storytellers, historical reenactors, dancers and authors weave together a dynamic experience that features Appalachia’s diverse racial and cultural identities, along with the migration stories and expressive folk traditions shaping Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky history. Performers will engage audience members in dramatic performances related to group identity, generational values and the healing power of creativity. Prepare to connect through singing, body percussion and personal reflection.
