ArtsWave Days: Jazz, Gospel & Arts at Cincinnati Art Museum

Both jazz and gospel tell a story of their own. Add arts, and you have a weekend that will inspire and touch the soul. From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., join us at Cincinnati Art Museum, where you will see spirituals in motion from Cincinnati Opera, a Protest Song Sing-in from Muse, Middle Eastern gypsy jazz fusion, Bollywood glamour from Cultural Center of India, and blues from John Ford.

11 a.m.
The Keshvar Project, a music and dance ensemble, will perform a Middle Eastern gypsy jazz fusion of originals and old world classics.

Noon
Learning Through Art, Inc. will lead a Books Alive! performance followed by an art-making experience in the Castellini Room.

1 p.m.
The Ron Esposito Quintet: Sight and Sound reflects multicultural influences on jazz with song and dance.

2 p.m.
Cultural Center of India presents magical movement in a tribute to Bollywood glamour.

3 p.m.
Singer/songwriter John Ford will perform the Blues from the 1920s through today.

12 p.m.
Cincinnati Opera presents “Spirituals in Motion,” which highlights and reintroduces the rich body of work found in the American Spiritual.

2 p.m.
MUSE, Cincinnati Women’s Choir presents Music of a Movement: Protest Song Sing-In.

Parking Info

Parking: FREE. Bike Racks are available outside the Main Entrance of the Art Museum. Hook up to one of our Marcel Duchamp-inspired racks during your visit! Accessible Parking is available in our north parking lot, just past the main visitor parking lot and entrance. Wheelchair + Stroller Entry is available via our DeWitt Entrance, on the east side of the museum, near the accessible parking. Access to the Mary R. Schiff Library + Archives is available via our Castellini Foundation Entrance, just to the right of the main entrance on the west side of the building.
