For centuries, composers and artists have drawn inspiration from the beauty of nature. Originally written for a documentary about vanishing landscapes in Iceland, the music to “Dreamland” creates sound worlds that are enchanting, intriguing and beautiful. The emotive photography of Cincinnati artist Michael Tittel will provide the perfect visual accompaniment to this work. The second half of the program explores one of the most recognizable compositions, Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons. In her first season with the Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra concertmaster Celeste Golden Boyer, whose playing has been described as “passionate” and “innately musical,” will be featured on the CCO premiere of Max Richter’s recomposed version of Vivaldi’s masterwork, intermixed with the movements from the original. With its fascinating textures and sound, Richter’s adaptation is a riveting update to this popular piece.
