Visit the Barn for artwork in oil, acrylics, pastel, watercolor, digital paintings, photography and quilts by your neighbors to the south, Boone County Kentucky! Thirteen artists will have their work on display.
The Boone County Visual Arts Association is coming to the Barn! These Kentucky artists (and one from Ohio!) offer a wide variety of paintings in oil, acrylics, pastels and watercolor. From traditional landscapes to colorful abstracts it is hard to choose your favorite. Add some digital paintings, photographs and quilt wall hangings to the mix and you have quite a show to see. The artwork comes in all sizes with something to please everyone's palate. We would love to meet you and have you see what inspires us.
One of our members paints with local plein air groups, traveling around the area. To sum it up, Margie Lakeberg expresses a sentiment for our association, “We are surrounded by beauty, history and good people. An artist can never run out of inspiration here!” Photographer, Josh Selm, also loves capturing the beauty he sees in nature and capturing that fleeting moment in time. Pat Buckley was inspired to paint a recent Kentucky landscape during a visit to a rundown farm near Petersburg. She says, “I loved the deep morning shadows, the look of the dilapidated buildings and the beauty of the wild flowers. I have visited this farm many times and taken many photos which I used as my reference for this painting.”
We enjoy being part of BCVAA, and as your neighbors to the south, would love to share our art with you. January is the perfect time to add something new to your home. It will be a fantastic beginning for 2019 and something original that you will appreciate forever.
