Matinee Musicale presents tenor Pene Pati on Sunday, March 3, 2019, at 3 p.m. at Memorial Hall
Matinee Musicale continues its 106th season with a recital by tenor Pene Pati on Sunday, March 3, 2019 at Memorial Hall. A native of Samoa, raised in New Zealand, Pati studied at the University of Aukland and the Wales International Academy of Voice. In 2012 he won the prestigious Joan Sutherland and Richard Bonynge Bel Canto Award; he took first place at the 2014 Montserrat Caballe International Arts Competition. He made his 2017 debut - to rave reviews - as the Duke in Rigoletto at San Francisco Opera, where he completed the Mereola Opera Program.
