Cellist Brannon Cho performs Sunday, April 14, 2019 at 3 p.m. at Memorial Hall, 1225 Elm Street in Over-the-Rhine.
This recent graduate of Northwestern University has appeared twice on National Public Radio's From the Top and was featured in HBO's Masterclass with virtuoso Joshua Bell.
Cho was the first prize winner in the 2018 Paulo International Cello Competition. In 2015 he won first prize at the Minnesota Orchestra Competition and placed second at the 2015 Naumburg International Cello Competition. He was the highest ranked American cellist at the 2015 International Tchaikovsky Competition in Russia. In addition, he was the winner of the 2012 Anna Johansen International Competition for Young String Players. He performs on a cello made in 1668 by Antonio Cassini.
