Dada Rafiki: Conversations

Dada Rafiki: Conversations

Presented by Eye of the Artists Foundation and Cincinnati Arts Association at Aronoff Center for the Arts

DADA RAFIKI: Conversations brings new energy to Women’s History Month

Hope – Health –  Healing

Dada Rafiki: Conversations is a multi-sensory artistic experience portrayed through various art forms, honoring the legacy and impact of women. This year’s focus shares sensitive themes onstage— promoting a universal message of hope, health and healing. The production, which incorporates some of the region’s most popular performers, includes theater, dance, storytelling, music, and spoken word, designed to create a bonding experience to facilitate mutual respect and inspire community collaboration. This unique and empowering multicultural art-experience will help to nurture relationships between dissimilar groups, fostering an appreciation for diverse perspectives.  Art is a universal language— Art is an instrument that helps us create deeper levels of conversation about what matters. Art builds bridges! And Dada Rafiki: Conversations is the vehicle that will bring the art to life.

AREAS OF FOCUS:

Annie Ruth’s desire is to make sure that the spotlight on those needed conversations occur in an open and non-threatening atmosphere, inspiring future conversations. “It is important that the female voice be heard, without watering down the message”, says Ruth.  “While celebrating many women’s organizations that have empowered women and girls in the Greater Cincinnati community my goal is to do just that”.
