Presented by Behringer-Crawford Museum at Behringer-Crawford Museum

COVINGTON, KY – Recipe for a Mambo Combo cocktail: Mix equal parts Latin and jazz, add a jigger of Africa and a splash of Cuba, and shake well. Serve with a side of salsa dancers and you’ve got a party!

Mambo Combo brings its exuberant musical style to Behringer-Crawford Museum’s outdoor amphitheatre on Thursday, June 20, as part of the 2019 Music@BCM concert series. Doors open at 6 p.m., the concert begins at 7 p.m. and the dancing goes on until the music stops.

Mambo Combo is comprised of musicians from a number of top local jazz and Latin groups, including Tropicoso, ZUMBA, Mambo Diablo, Salsa Renegades and the Blue Wisp Big Band. With musical director Michael Sharfe on bass, Charles Ali Schweitzer as primary percussionist, Baba Charles Miller as auxiliary percussionist, Mike Darrah on piano, Tim McCord on reeds, John Zappa on trumpet and various artists on trombone, this band’s sound is a melting pot of rhythms and harmonies from Latin America and beyond.
